Having missed the first C&C event of the year due to the ChumpCar race at Road America in April, I was excited to make it to this one and catch up with old friends I hadn't seen all winter. Despite the forecast calling for rain the night before, the weather on Saturday turned out to be about as perfect as it could be! C&C has always started at 8am but I'm glad I got there early for a few reasons; 1. parking fills up quickly and the lot was nearly full with over 500 cars by the 8am start time, 2. most spectators don't show up until a bit later in the morning so I had more time to take clean photos of the early arrivers before the cars were surrounded, and 3. the light is better for photography when it's lower in the sky. So with that in mind, I got to work right away, snapping away as cars entered the grounds of the MotorPlex and began to fill up the parking spaces.
The local Audi club is always one of the first groups to arrive en masse and this time it was no different. They brought along something new this time, however: a pre-production Audi A6 3.2 TFSI. Although it's not exactly what you'd call an exotic, it was interesting to see the leaps in technology compared to the previous models. Unfortunately, the car was slated to be crushed very shortly after the event, as is the fate of most pre-production cars.

Showcasing some of the latest Audi technology, this A6 was outfitted with laser-guided cruise control, full LED headlights, and a kickin' Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Another group to arrive all at once was the 350Z club which swarmed the MotorPlex with a wide variety of brightly colored cars.

Towards the center of the complex was this lonely looking Porsche GT3.

The greatest thing about C&C aside from the great group of car loving people that show up every month is the wide variety of cars!

A new garage owner at the MotorPlex opened up his space to show off to all of the spectators. It was beautifully done and he filled it nicely with his Alpina B7, Ferrari F430, and Bentley Continental GTC.

Luxury Autos arrived with a few dealer cars including this beautiful grey Bentley Continental Supersports.

I couldn't take my eyes off of this gorgeous Aston Martin DBS. It just oozed with sex appeal.

Around 10am, some of the cars started to leave the MotorPlex while others prepared for the drive out to Cokato, MN to go karting.

This was my ride to Stockholm Racing where we'd spend the next 3 hours karting. A lean, mean, pavement eating machine: a 2001 Dodge Viper ACR.

The 25 of us that made it to the track spent the rest of the afternoon racing karts, talking cars, and generally having a good time. It was a great way to cap off the day and I look forward to making it to the MN C&C event in July.
