Back To The 50's is usually scheduled for Father's Day weekend and for the past several years, it's been something my father and I have enjoyed going to the event together. This year was no different. Despite an gray, ominous sky, the rain held out on Sunday and the old cars were out in force. I don't think they quite made it to the record attendance of over 11,000 cars they had last year but the Minnesota State Fair grounds still looked packed with the finest group of classic cars you've ever seen.

This thing was definitely my favorite car of the whole show. It looked so mean and purposeful. With a V12 mounted up front and such short exhaust pipes coming straight out from the heads with no mufflers or anything, this car was LOUD! So loud, in fact, that the owner of the car installed a pair of headsets so he could talk to his passenger over the roar of the engine.

In addition to all of the great cars there were also a lot of vendors this year. These guys made some really interesting engine/transmission pairings that caught my eye.

All in all, it was a great event and a great way to spend the afternoon with my dad. If you've never been to Back To The 50's before, it's definitely something you need to see.
