One of the perks of my new job is getting to all of the big auto shows. I recently traveled to New York for the New York International Auto Show. On the flight into LaGuardia, the plane was nearly empty and I had a row to myself.

On Wednesday, the press days started for the show and I made sure to get to the convention center bright and early. I had a full day lined up with various press releases but made sure to take time to shoot other interesting cars at the show as well.

BMW showed off a number of cars at their booth including the i8 Coupe concept as well as the new M6 and 6-series Gran Coupe.

Acura displayed their NSX Concept that's been making the rounds lately.

In addition to having some of the hottest cars on display at NYIAS, they had some of the best looking booth babes too.

Without a doubt, the biggest release of the show was the new 2013 SRT Viper. As expected, the car that Ralph Gilles rolled out did not disappoint! With 640 hp on tap and 3,300lb curb weight, this ought to be one of the most exciting drivers cars to debut any time soon.

The interior was hugely improved over the previous generation of Viper as well, with higher quality materials and a ton of new tech features.

Since Chrysler Group teamed up with Fiat, the quality of booth babes has increased significantly, especially at the Fiat booth.

Mazda displayed this concept, giving us a taste of the new Mazda6.

One of the most impressive cars of the show was at the Porsche booth. For NYIAS, Porsche brought out this stunning 917 longtail racer.

Also at the Porsche booth were racing legends new (Patrick Long) and old (Vic Elford).

Lotus had a great display of their Evora, in a number of guises.

At the Chicago Auto Show, Lexus had four LF-A's on display. Even though they only had one on the show floor in New York, the car is always a treat to see in person given its limited production of 500 units.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz debuted the new GL and GLK SUVs in addition to the monster twin turbo V12-powered SL65 AMG.

Mercedes-Benz also made clear what their craftsmen at AMG were capable of when building this stunning gray SLS AMG.

With Infiniti sponsoring Red Bull's multiple world championship winning Formula 1 team, they had last year's car on display, along with some of Sebastien Vettel's racing gear.

While Red Bull may give you wings, I think this show-goer may have had a few too many Red Bulls, turning into a bird.

Since going to the major domestic auto shows has become a large part of my new job, I plan to share more photos from the show floor with my blog in the future. Thanks for looking!
