Porsche 911R
Along with the 997-generation Porsche GT3RS 4.0, the later 991-generation 911R will go down in history as two massive icons of the water-cooled 911 era. After the 991-generation GT3 debuted, many customers decried the fact that the GT3 was no longer available with a manual transmission. Porsche’s solution was to make a limited run of stripped-down GT3s that ditched the wing, most of the sound deadening, and shaved a few more pounds by getting rid of the PDK dual-clutch gearbox and replacing it with a wonderfully tactile 6-speed manual. The good news was that it was basically the perfect version of the 991 GT3. The bad news was that it was limited to just 991 examples, making it not only rare but astronomically expensive. This example takes things a step further, likely being one of the most expensive examples of the 911Rs created, featuring paint-to-sample Gulf Blue paint with Gulf Orange painted stripes and matching Gulf Orange wheels. Inside, this 911R features leather-to-sample with Ascot leather left over from the Carrera GT project and orange stitching throughout. All 911Rs are special, but this one is more special than the rest!
